Being Reddit wanted bots out of FFA (when i say "reddit" wanted, rougly 100 users out of the 14k registered at the time). But two, the matchmaking and game flow was much better, and teams and modes more even.Ī headscratcher happened when they announced on their first patch notes for the first update, they would be ridding the Bots only on FFA, only on the server browser, and only on PC. What that did, is one, assure you would always get a full game. So, what you really had were 40 players, and the rest Bots. ![]() What happened with the 64 player modes at launch, a good portion were filled with Bots. Constantly getting over ran b/c your mates have to sit thru 18 second spawn times every death. Thats why so many switch to attack at beginning of battle. Attacking team ALWAYS has like 100 more kills and you rarely see a defensive team hold the line until the last 2 objectives. I still really like the game but the battles really do feel scripted now. Which is what i thought obj game modes were all about. It mostly came down to the team that actually played the objective. Then, on the last two objectives it switches where defense has the shorter spawn timer and closer location.īefore that last patch battles would end at various points on all maps. Dark forest as mason you will spawn literally 20 yards from obj while agatha spawns a mile up the road. All objectives fall like dominoes due to attack having an obvious advantage via spawn timers and locations. Now 64p battles play out darn near the same way every time. They made sweeping changes to the game based on 40p stats. Read the notes from the patch that dropped b4 tenosia. Your correct about the game being balanced around 40p. Having played both 64p and 40p, it seems apparent to me that the game is mostly balanced around 20v20 matches, with 64p often teetering on the edges of unplayability due to objectives being bodyblocked rather than actually being fought for.
